Who it is for
Is this the right course?
Nominated emergency first aiders, particularly in lower-risk workplaces where a first-aid needs assessment identifies EFAW-level cover. It also suits supervisors, team leaders, volunteers, community workers and event staff.
Before you book
- No previous first-aid experience needed
- At least 14 years old on the first day
- Able to take part in practical work at floor level
- Suitable clothing and footwear for practical activity

Your next step.
Most people go on to First Aid at Work, the fuller three-day qualification. Emergency first aid forms part of that course, so what you have done here may count towards it — tell us what you already hold and we will confirm where you stand.
Your certificate lasts three years. An annual refresher in between is the best way to keep the skills usable.
