Who it is for
Is this the right course?
Anyone holding a current First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification who wants their skills to be usable when they are actually needed. Qualsafe certificates identify refresher points at the end of years one and two.
Before you book
- You should hold a current FAW or EFAW qualification
- Able to perform CPR at floor level
- Able to take part in practical casualty management
- Suitable clothing for practical activity

- Assessing an emergency and scene safety
- Primary casualty assessment

How you are assessed
Predominantly practical, with three practical assessments during the session. You will be demonstrating skills rather than listening to presentations.

Where it leads
An important distinction.
Refresher training keeps your skills current, but it does not extend your certificate. When your three years are nearly up you will still need First Aid at Work Requalification.
In practice the cycle looks like this: qualify, refresh after year one, refresh after year two, requalify in year three.
