Who it is for
Is this the right course?
Workplaces where a first-aid needs assessment calls for the fuller First Aid at Work qualification rather than the one-day course. Common in construction, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, education, hospitality, leisure, security, events, agriculture and public services.
Before you book
- No previous first-aid qualification required
- At least 14 years old on the first day
- Able to demonstrate CPR and the recovery position at floor level
- Enough English to take part in training and assessment
Tell us in advance if you need any reasonable adjustments or additional support and we will arrange it.
What it covers
On the course.
- Roles, responsibilities and incident management
- Primary and secondary casualty assessment
- Unresponsive casualty and the recovery position
- CPR and AED use
- Choking, bleeding and shock
- Fractures, sprains and dislocations
- Burns and scalds
- Head, spinal, chest and eye injuries
- Anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes and seizures
- Heart attack, stroke and poisoning
How you are assessed
Practical scenarios across the three days, plus theory assessment. You are expected to demonstrate the skills competently, not simply watch them.

Where it leads
Keeping it current.
Your certificate lasts three years. Book Requalification before it runs out to renew it — leave it too late and you may have to sit the full three days again.
In between, an Annual First Aid Refresher after year one and year two keeps your skills sharp. If you are looking towards event or pre-hospital work rather than the workplace, First Response Emergency Care is the usual route on.
